What it is
Training to Strengthen Partnership Between Parents
A companion program to Together Facing the Challenge TFTC Family Edition training focuses on three key outcomes.
- Strengthening relationships between the resource and primary families to support shared parenting.
- Helping children in care overcome the "divided loyalties" that often impair their ability to transition between two families.
- Teaching new parenting skills to primary parents that are similar to those taught to resource parents in TFTC.
TFTC Family Edition is best used when a foster care agency has identified and is committed to reunification as the primary goal for the child and takes the view that work toward this goal takes place from the very beginning of placement.
How it works
Teaching in Tandem With Together Facing the Challenge
The practical knowledge, tactics, and tools taught in Together Facing the Challenge form the foundation for TFTC Family Edition, so this program is provided in addition to — but not separate from — that core training.
We're Here to Help.
